Jamie MacDonald (born December 22, 1994 in Kitimat ) is a Canadian short tracker .

Career

MacDonald started the World Cup for the first time at the beginning of the 2015/16 season in Montreal and finished ninth in the 1500 m. In the rest of the season she achieved four more top ten placements. With third place over 1000 m in Dordrecht , she reached her first podium in the World Cup and finally finished 11th in the World Cup ranking over 1000 m. After finishing second over 500 m in Calgary at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she was fourth over 500 m in Gangneung and came back on the podium in Dresden with third place over 500 m. In addition, she achieved a total of four placings in the top ten over 1000 m and 1500 m and at the end of the season reached eighth place in the World Cup over 500 m. In the 2017/18 season she was second at the World Cup in Budapest and third in the relay in Dordrecht. Her best result of the season in the World Cup singles was sixth in Budapest over 500 m, in Dordrecht over 1500 m and in Seoul over 1000 m. At the season highlight, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she was eighth in the 3000 m relay. In March 2018, she won the bronze medal with the relay at the World Championships in Montreal. In addition, she achieved 36th place over 1500 m, ninth place in the all-around event and fourth place over 500 m.
