Jamiu Abiodun Alimi (born October 5, 1992 in Lagos ) is a Nigerian football player .

Club career

Alimi began his career in 2009 with the Westerlo Football Academy in Lagos , a farm team for the Belgian first division club KVC Westerlo . After he developed into a top performer there, he received an invitation in the summer of 2009 for a trial training session at the Belgian club KVC Westerlo. In January 2011, he and his two club mates Salau Ibrahim and Bright Edomwonyi Osagie moved to the Belgian parent club KVC Westerlo. After he could not prevail in Belgium and only came to five missions, he moved on August 30, 2011 on loan to the Ukrainian Premjer-Liha club Metallurg Donetsk . After returning to Belgium in October 2011 , he was sold to Tawrija Simferopol . On November 20, 2011 he made his professional debut in the Ukrainian Premjer-Liha against Volyn Lutsk . Then followed a season at Olympiacos Nicosia and since 2014 he has been back in his home country Nigeria , currently for Akwa United .

International career

Alimi played the qualification for the U-20 World Cup in 2011 , but had to forego the finals due to an injury. Between 2015 and 2016 he also played four games for the senior national team .
