Jammin July ( proper spelling : Jammin # July ) is a German funk rock band from Ingolstadt .
history
The founding of the band began with the singer Elessa Hill and the guitarist Hakan Cesur, who at that time also played with the formation Club légère , which broke up as some band members pursued other projects.
Little by little, the other band members Michael "Mike" Hanke (guitar), Harald "Harry" Koch (bass) and Christian "Chris" Schröder (drums) joined Jammin July. The official formation as a band is given in July 2012. The band originally appeared as a sextet with a second front woman. Angelika Heudecker sang either instead of the singer Elessa Hill or at her side as a front duo. Jammin July's songs are created while jamming , which is also evident in the band name.
In July 2014, the band released their debut album Get Into on Magic Mango Music , which was recorded in 2013. The album was recorded together with Heudecker, who left the formation in spring 2014 for professional reasons. Karl Leitner rated the album in the teaser of his article in the Donaukurier in January 2015 with the words: “When a band from Ingolstadt records a CD, it often happens that this project works as well as in the case of the sextet's debut CD“ Get Into ” Jammin # July, less often. Ten original compositions with funky rock and groove-oriented pop, which are easy to catch and have a high recognition value, but are never insignificant, illustrate the compositional competence of the two guitarists Hakan Cesur and Mike Hanke. ” In August 2014, Jammin July presented at Radio Galaxy . The band is currently working on their second album.
