Jamsil-dong ( 잠실동 ) is a neighborhood in the Songpa district of Seoul . It includes the Lotte World amusement park and the sports complex built for the 1988 Summer Olympics .
history
Jamsil ( 잠실 ) is the Korean name for a place where silkworms are raised. At the site of today's city district Jamsil-dong, the place Dongjamsil where during was originally Joseon Dynasty , the sericulture was promoted by the state.
