Jan-Ole Jähnig

Jan-Ole Jähnig (born March 9, 2001 in Altenburg ) is a German motorcycle racer .

Career

Jan-Ole Jähnig started his career in 2012 in the ADAC Mini Bike Cup. After two years in the entry-level class, he was promoted to the junior class in 2014 and finished ninth in the overall ranking. In the 2015 season he started in the ADAC Junior Cup , where he regularly scored points as a newcomer. A year later, in the 2016 season, Jähnig secured the runner-up title with three wins.

In 2017, the Thuringian competed in the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) in the newly created Supersport 300 category and was German champion with a Yamaha R3 with three victories . Overall, he was on the podium in eleven of twelve races. In addition to the IDM, he took part in the ADAC Northern European Cup (NEC) in the Moto3 class on a KTM and finished fourth in the GP standings with one win and four more podium places.

Jähnig has been driving a KTM RC 390R with the Freudenberg team in the Supersport 300 World Championship since the 2018 season . In April 2019 he secured his first podium at the race in Assen , where he finished third.
