Jan-Oliver Zwerg (* 1965 in Cottbus ) is a German politician of the Alternative for Germany (AfD). Within the party, dwarf supports the wing .

Life

Zwerg completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic from 1984 to 1986 and after his military service in 1989/1990 he was employed by the administration in the Dresden-Mitte district . Zwerg has been an entrepreneur since April 1990. He lives in Freital , is married and has two children.

In 2013, Zwerg joined the AfD. From 2013 to 2016 he was deputy chairman of the AfD district association Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains and then became chairman of the AfD in the district. He held this office until his election as general secretary of the AfD Saxony in 2018. In the course of the refugee crisis in Europe from 2015 , Zwerg advocated the use of firearms for border security in July 2018.

On September 1, 2019, Zwerg won the direct mandate for AfD Saxony in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains constituency 3 with 35.0 percent. He moved in as a member of the Saxon state parliament and was elected parliamentary manager of the AfD parliamentary group.
