IC 1847 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Aries north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 288 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 35,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 1857 .
The object was discovered on January 7, 1896 by Stéphane Javelle .
