NGC 1111 = IC 1850 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type S in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 405 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1109 , NGC 1112 , NGC 1115 , IC 1855 .
The object was discovered by the astronomer Albert Marth on December 2, 1863 and rediscovered by Stéphane Javelle on January 7, 1896 ( IC 1850 ).
