NGC 1100 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 324 million light years from the Milky Way and about 165,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1091 , NGC 1092 , NGC 1098 , NGC 1099 .
The property was discovered by Francis Preserved Leavenworth on October 17, 1885 .
