NGC 1105 / IC 1840 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 344 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1074 , NGC 1075 , NGC 1081 , NGC 1083 .
The property was discovered by Francis Preserved Leavenworth on December 2, 1885 .
