NGC 1130 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Perseus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 279 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1129 , NGC 1131 , IC 265 , IC 266 .
The object was discovered by William Parsons on December 8, 1855 .
