NGC 1114 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Eridanus at the southern sky . It is an estimated 153 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light-years across. The galaxy is considered a member of the NGC 1199 group ( LGG 81 ).
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 1125 .
The object was discovered on October 6, 1785 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
