NGC 1108 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Eridanus at the southern sky . It is an estimated 415 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 100,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1082 , NGC 1084 , NGC 1110 .
The object was discovered on October 31, 1886 by the astronomer Lewis Swift .
