IC 265 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Perseus the northern sky . It is estimated to be 245 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 50,000 ly. 
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1129 , NGC 1130 , NGC 1131 , IC 266 , among others .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on November 3, 1888 .
