IC 268 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type SB? in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is an estimated 432 million light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1158 , IC 269 , IC 270 , IC 272 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 1, 1891 .
