IC 269 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Eridanus at the southern sky . It is estimated to be 372 million light years from the Milky Way and about 120,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1158 , IC 268 , IC 270 , IC 272 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 1, 1891 .
