IC 269 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Eridanus at the southern sky . It is estimated to be 372 million light years from the Milky Way and about 120,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1158 , IC 268 , IC 270 , IC 272 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 1, 1891 .
