IC 262 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Perseus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 246 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 115,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1122 and IC 266 .
The Type Ia supernova SN 2008ey was observed here.
The object was discovered on November 3, 1888 by Edward D. Swift .
