IC 266 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Perseus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 238 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 50,000 ly. 
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1122 , NGC 1129 , NGC 1130 , IC 265 , among others .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on November 3, 1888 .
