IC 248 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type Sa in the constellation ram on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 399 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 105,000 ly.
In the same area of ​​the sky are the galaxies NGC 1030 and NGC 1054 , among others .

The object was discovered in September 1891 by the American astronomer Sherburne Wesley Burnham .
