IC 239 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Andromeda in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 46 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 ly in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the NGC 1023 group.
The object was discovered by Isaac Roberts in 1893 .
