IC 238 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 271 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on October 12, 1887 .
