NGC 1158 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 376 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 268 , IC 269 , IC 270 , IC 272 .
The object was discovered by Francis Leavenworth on January 1, 1886 .
