NGC 1145 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Eridanus at the southern sky . It is estimated to be 90 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on December 11, 1835 .
