NGC 1163 is a bar-edged spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 100 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter .
The object was discovered by Francis Leavenworth on October 31, 1885 .
