IC 1826 = IC 1830 is a lens-shaped galaxy with extensive star formation areas of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 60 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years across. 
Together with NGC 1079 , NGC 1097 , PGC 10479 and PGC 10709 , it forms the NGC 1097 group . 
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on September 6, 1897 .
