LEDA / PGC 10709 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type S0a with extensive star formation areas in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 53 million light years from the Milky Way .
Together with NGC 1079 , NGC 1097 , IC 1830 and PGC 10479 it forms the NGC 1097 group .
