NGC 1105 / IC 1840 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 344 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1074 , NGC 1075 , NGC 1081 , NGC 1083 .

The property was discovered by Francis Preserved Leavenworth on December 2, 1885 .
