IC 1860 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E4 in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 303 million light years from the Milky Way and about 205,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1858 and IC 1859 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on September 5, 1897 .
