IC 1865 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Cetus south of the celestial equator . It is an estimated 358 million light years from the Milky Way and about 160,000 light years across.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 21, 1903 .
