IC 1854 is a lenticular galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Aries north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 418 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on January 18, 1898 .
