IC 1834 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 626 million light years from the Milky Way and about 170,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 246 , IC 1836 , IC 1843 , IC 1844 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 21, 1903 .
