IC 1827 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Cetus the southern sky . It is estimated to be 266 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years across. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with NGC 1038 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1004 , NGC 1019 , NGC 1032 , NGC 1043 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 21, 1903 .
