IC 1866 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 400 million light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1150 , NGC 1151 , NGC 1157 , IC 276 .
The object was discovered on January 31, 1900 by Herbert Alonzo Howe .
