IC 1876 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SA0 in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 289 million light years from the Milky Way and has a disk diameter of around 95,000 ly.
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on September 16, 1896 .
