IC 1896 is a dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Horologium in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 42 million light years from the Milky Way and about 10,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on December 5, 1899 .
