IC 1886 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 384 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 115,000 ly. 
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1221 , NGC 1223 , NGC 1225 , among others . 
The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on December 9, 1893 .
