IC 1882 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Cetus south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 319 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on January 29, 1894 .
