IC 292 = IC 1887 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sd in the constellation Perseus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 138 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years across. 
The galaxies NGC 1212 , IC 290 , IC 293 , IC 294 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on September 11, 1888 .
