IC 302 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 264 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter.
The Type Ic supernova SN 2000F was observed here.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 15, 1892 .
