IC 305 is a compact elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E3 in the constellation Perseus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 235 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1900 , IC 1901 , IC 1902 and IC 304 .

The object was discovered on September 12, 1890 by Sherburne Wesley Burnham .
