IC 311 is a low luminosity  galaxy from the Hubble type S? in the constellation Perseus in the north star sky . It is an estimated 195 million light years from the Milky Way , about 50,000 light years in diameter, and is considered a member of the Perseus Cluster  Abell 426 . 
The galaxies IC 308 and IC 309 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object on October 10, 1888 by Lewis Swift discovered.
