IC 301 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Perseus in the northern sky . It is an estimated 223 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years across. The galaxy is considered a member of the Perseus Cluster Abell 426 .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1250 , NGC 1265 , IC 300 , IC 312 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on October 13, 1891 .
