Löwengrub is a village in the Upper Austrian municipality of St. Agatha in the Grieskirchen district .

history

The earliest written document is from 1371 and reads "an der Lebengrub". The name goes back to the old Bavarian lewer (hill). Later it was dissimilated to Leo .

geography

The scattered settlement is four kilometers south of Sankt Agatha on a foothill of the Sauwald forest and is one of the 40 localities in the municipality. On January 1, 2020 the village had 34 inhabitants.
