NGC 1074 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 341 million light years from the Milky Way and about 205,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1075 , NGC 1081 , NGC 1105 , IC 1840 .
The property was discovered by Francis Preserved Leavenworth on November 28, 1885 .
