Jan-Philipp Marks (born April 3, 1992 in Hamburg ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

Marks began his career in 2004 with the junior team at Schweriner SC . In 2010, the outside attacker continued his athletic training at VC Olympia Berlin . In the same year he took part in the European Championship with the German junior national team and reached sixth place with the team. In 2011, Marks played with the juniors at the World Cup. From 2012 to 2013 he studied at the University of Hawaii and played on the university team. He then moved to the Bundesliga team Generali Haching . With Haching he reached the semifinals in the DVV Cup and in the playoffs of the Bundesliga . In 2014, Marks was signed by Bundesliga competitor SWD Powervolleys Düren . In the 2014/15 season he reached third place in the Bundesliga and the semifinals in the DVV Cup with Düren . In the 2015/16 CEV Cup he reached the quarter-finals against Sir Safety Perugia with the SWD Powervolley . Shortly before the playoff quarter-finals , the club separated from Marks.

Marks has been the coach of the second division club SV Lindow-Gransee since 2017 .

Private

Marks' brothers Nicolas and Christoph also play volleyball.
