Jan Artmann (born May 23, 1991 in Wuppertal ) is a former German handball player and current team assistant for the Bundesliga club Bergischer HC .

Career

Jan Artmann initially played at Mettmann-Sport. In 2006 he moved to HSG Düsseldorf , with whom he won the German A youth championship in 2010. In the 2008/09 season he made his debut for the Düsseldorf team in the 2nd handball Bundesliga , and from 2010 he was a permanent member of the Bundesliga squad. Since the 2012/13 season, the 1.85-meter-tall left winger played at Bergischer HC , with whom he rose to the 1st division in 2013.

At the end of the 2018 season, Artmann had to end his active career due to persistent hip problems. As a result, he took over the newly created position of team assistant at Bergischer HC for the 2018/19 season .

Private

Jan Artmann's twin brother Nils also plays handball. For the 2014/15 season he moved from third division OSC Löwen Duisburg to the Bergische Löwen and played there for several years with Jan. He is currently under contract with HC Rhein Vikings .
