Jan Daemesz. de Veth
Jan Daemesz. de Veth (born around 1595 in Leiden ; died 1625 in Gouda ) was a Dutch painter.
Life
Jan Daemesz. de Veth was probably a student of Wouter Pietersz. II. Crabeth or Dirck Crabeth . He traveled to France and Italy, including staying in Rome. In 1616 he drew the patrix for a seal in Gouda. Between 1616 and 1622 he painted three rifle pieces , which are now in the Gouda Museum. He actually wanted to learn the craft of plate cutting ( engraver , eraser or copperplate engraver ), but he died in 1625 at the age of 31 of an infectious disease.
