Jan David Sutthoff

Jan David Sutthoff (born July 14, 1987 in Georgsmarienhütte ) is a German journalist and expert on digital communication and social media. He heads the North German regional medium MOIN.DE at the Funke media group .

Life

Sutthoff studied political science , law and communication science at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg . From July 2009 to January 2011 he was also the publisher and editor-in-chief of the student magazine Ottfried . He then completed training as an editor at the Axel Springer Academy in Berlin . In 2013 he was the first editor and part of the founding team of the German-language edition of The Huffington Post , where he helped to set up the policy area. Since 2017 he has been Head of Social Media & Video for the medium.

Later he was Chief Editor for the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) at the communications agency Scholz & Friends .

Awards

  • 2012: Journalist of the Year in the Newcomer of the Year category (4th place) as part of Team 10 of the Axel Springer Academy.
  • 2012: New Media Journalism Award as part of Team 10 of the Axel Springer Academy.
  • 2019: "Campaign of the Year" at the PR Report Award and winner of the Politics Award as part of the campaign team at the communication agency Scholz & Friends.
