Jan Gottlieb Jiracek von Arnim (born April 4, 1973 in Hanover ) is a German-Austrian pianist .

Life

Jan Gottlieb Jiracek von Arnim comes from a German-Bohemian family of musicians. He studied at the University of the Arts in Berlin and at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Hans Leygraf .

Jiracek von Arnim is the winner of several international piano competitions, including Busoni (Bozen) and Maria Canals (Barcelona). He has also received awards and prizes for his interpretations of works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Olivier Messiaen . His international career began with his success at the 1997 Van Cliburn piano competition in Texas, USA.

As part of his international concert activities, Jiracek von Arnim has made guest appearances at Carnegie Hall New York, Lincoln Center New York, Spivey Hall Atlanta, Musashino Hall Tokyo, Philharmonie St. Petersburg, Rudolphinum Prague , Philharmonie Berlin , Herkulessaal Munich, Musikhalle Hamburg, Gewandhaus Leipzig , Konzerthaus and Musikverein Vienna.

Jiracek von Arnim was a guest at the Rhine-Ruhr Piano Festival, Lucerne Festival, Kissinger Sommer and the Ravinia Festival Chicago. In the 2008/2009 season, Jiracek von Arnim played concerts in China, Taiwan, South Korea, the USA, as well as piano recitals at the EuroArts Festival and Bebersee Festival (broadcast by Deutschlandradio Berlin).

Jan Jiracek von Arnim lives in Vienna , where he was appointed as the youngest professor of piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts in 2001 .
