Publications and appearances

In the “gamer” scene, Hegenberg has achieved a high level of awareness.

Hegenberg decided against a record company and started his career with the largely free publication of his products - from 2003 as a download offer, and in 2004 as a DVD supplement to the PC magazine PC Action (150,000 circulation).

Last.fm counted almost 500,000 Hegenberg tracks played by 13,000 listeners in May 2008, although the tracks had only been available on the open platform since April 2008. YouTube videos produced by fans for Hegenberg titles have already been viewed millions of times. Sources of income for the artist include a. Sponsors such as Atari , Levicom and Xilence as well as concerts throughout Germany. In autumn 2008, Media Markt secured the exclusive rights to Hegenberg's hit role-playing compilation, Schlachtenlaerm , which was published in parallel to the World of Warcraft add-on Wrath of the Lich King . Press coverage

Opinion on Hegenberg is divided in the media. While RTL II, for example, celebrated him as “probably the most successful artist in the free music scene”, music critic Henrik Drüner ( Kieler Nachrichten ) judges that his secret of success is the borderline dubious texts that are shouted word for word by the audience. The Berliner Zeitung speculated in 2003 that Hegenberg was "probably better known in the scene than Britney Spears ".
